Just acquired a faulty innotab max (charging socket / hdmi socket looked like a kiddy had attacked them with a screwdriver).
Interesting to note, that the whole internal storage (system, bootloader, recovery, userdata etc) is actually stored on an internal 8gb micro sd card!
The card can be removed, and I managed to dd the whole card to a file in linux. There are no partitions as such on the card, but i tried binwalking the file and then extracted the system and recovery partitions.
