Struggling to Connect
#41
(09-23-2015, 01:56 PM)Deak Phreak Wrote: Strange, yea seems like something is accessing PhysicalDrive0 which makes the app scanner fail.  I wonder if I can adjust the script to continue trying other drives if one fails to scan.  I have not touched my code in quite a while.  I am also curious if it is the tablet that is failing to scan or something else on the computer.

I may have to connect a tablet online to get the latest update and then try it again.  If it somehow got put into develop mode, that would cause the app to not be able to connect to it.

Problem is trying to find some time to take a look at it.
I can say this much, I tried it on two different tablets last night with the same issue, I'm going to try it from a different computer when I have the opportunity (traveling). I appreciate the efforts ... This hack is perhaps my favorite aspect of these tablets, aside from their ability to withstand impact ...

A desperate suggestion but are you always using the same USB port upon which to connect the LeapPad to the PC?
On my Win7 PC, if I use an alternative USB port it then goes off to install the LeapPad USB driver again, causing quite a delay and should I try to connect before it has installed it, I'd expect an error similar to yours....
Worth a shot?

I had tried that, I figured it was worth a shot as well. Three USB ports, and each had the same issue. Appreciate the advice. Is nobody else experiencing this issue? I didn't make any changes as it would relate to the LP manager; seemed to coincide with plugging in this week to get recently added games ...

It must be something with the new LeapPad software/firmware? as I tried it on a (literally) new computer that does not have LF Connect and receive the same error as before. This does not bode well for me ... everyone else out there ... I wouldn't update through the LF Connect just yet.
I am using a Leappad Ultra and an Ultra XDi.

Thank you all.

I got a semi-broken Ultra and ran the Fix utility which I believe restored it with the latest firmware. I tried my app after and it connected fine. I am not sure what to tell you at this point.

Edit: I tweaked the scanner. Download this zip and extract to your program folder and overwrite the old exe. http://spiffyhacks.com/uploads/LeapPadManager_test.zip

Let me know what happens.

I to had been able to use it for quite a while now.  recently though Leapfrog connect was asking for an update and I kept on declining it... today i was transferring videos to leap pad and got a ".NET" error...only a quarter of the files transferred.  I wish I took a screen shot or something but I just declined it and tried to reconnect to leap pad again, now it does not want to connect... I don't want to update leapfrog connect because I think it will erase the videos and games I already have on it...I rebooted the computer hoping this would fix it, but nothing...If someone get's the ".NET" error let me know what it says, so I can research some more and maybe it's fixable....If I find a work around I will post.  Hopefully, Deak is able to find a fix...Also, i'm on windows 10 and it was working for me just fine...also worked for me under windows 8....

Thanks again, Deak for a great program...

Heya and I'm sorry but I've been searching for a solution for hours but I cant figure it out unfortunately, will appreciate any help you can give me. I am in admin mode, LeapPad Manager is allowed through firewall and had admin privileges, UAC is disabled, LeapFrog connect has all services stopped through task manager, no monitor.exe running, have rebooted comp and LeapPad 3 a few times, and changed USB ports. I'm not that confident on computers so I have probably missed something small but I cant figure it out.

I do have printscreens avail of each error if you need them, already loaded this with a lot of text sorry.

85% I get this and nothing at all on the manger app

Have you ever been able to connect? Is this a new device or used? Do you know if you are in developer mode? Have you tried forcing a firmware restore on the device? Do you happen to have any other devices that connect and work?

I did buy it second hand about 4 months ago, I have changed all accounts on it and stuff with leapfrog. Ive never been able to get it to connect, Im 90% sure its not in developers mode.  I have not tried to do a firmware restore, I did do a "repair" via leapfrog connect when I got it, not sure if that has any connection. I just spent a few days searching your forums and trying what I could before pestering haha.
