When I tried to insert framebuffer modules the screen flickered a bit but I did not see any console text on screen. Most probably because it was on different framebuffer than current (there are three)...

for me nothing freezes it just doesn't attach any driver, even lsusb (from buildroot busybox) prints correct vid/pid detected. Time to get leaptv kernel source from leapfrog and compile missing driver...

normally hosts file contains only ip address to hostnames mappings, so most probably you should put there only something like: 127.0.0.1 devicelog.leapfrog.com services.leapfrog.com
