PondLewder Pre-Alpha *RELEASE*
#1
Happy New Year Everyone!

I feel like this is at a point I can release and people test it.
PondLewder is a Homebrew/Backup Loader.

# INSTALL #
First follow the tutorial in the LeapTV section to get FTP access (Needs to be updated but should still work)
Copy both "LF" and "PondLewder" folders to the root directory of your LeapTV using your favourite FTP manager.
Assuming you haven't run any homebrew on your console before you will need to copy
ALL the libs from "libs (IF YOU NEED THEM)" to "/usr/lib"

* This will overwrite the "Pointer Training Games" *

# HOW TO USE #
After you have "installed" PondLewder restart your system.
Once your system has restarted you should see the "PondLewder" icon on the menu.
Simply run it like you would any other game.

Once PondLewder has loaded and scanned the entire system you will be presented with a basic menu showing all applications installed on your LeapTV.

Currently hidden system apps are shown, in future released these will be hidden with the ability to show or hide them.

Find the homebrew or game you wish to load and press A on it.

PondLewder will exit back to the main menu and where your game cart is normally shown, the Homebrew/Game will be shown there.

Simply launch it like you normally would and enjoy!

Any issue you have, I would love to hear your feedback.

Just got a Leap TV for my kid (haven't un-boxed it yet) and saw your post and had a question.

You say that "Backups are stored @ /LF/Bulk/PondLewderBackups/<productID>"....... I think the Leap TV has 16 gigs of internal memory. If I start filling up that location, can your loader pull more games from an external USB drive? Or, can I buy a 32GB or 64GB MicroSD and physically replace one of the official cartridge SD cards with a big one and point your loader there? Or is the hard limit the 16 gigs of internal memory?

Sorry, I've been crazy busy lately and only just saw your post.  Currently the leaptv doesn't support external storage(that I know of). The bigger MicroSD card is definitely a possiblity, will have to alter PL a little.  But currently I have these(32 games) installed on my leaptv and it comes to a total of 7gb.

Hi All,

I followed the steps above and everything seemed to go OK, however when i rebooted the LeapTV the PondLewder icon had replaced the pointer training games (as stated above), but when I click the app, the LeapFrog logo comes up and then the screen goes black for a second, then the LeapFrog icon again and back to the menu screen

Am I missing something here?

Thanks in advance guys

Thanks Mick,

That was my first thought too, but i checked the usr/lib folder again using Filezilla and it did show the files were copied over OK.

I copied the four files from the Libs folder again to be sure.

I have even tried to copy over the Library files from
from the 1.01 release but I get the same result. I see the file sizes are the same, so i assume not much changed with these files from one release to the next anyways.

Also another point to note was that the Pond Lewder default icon was still that of the pointer trainer when i first rebooted the system. It was fairly obvious to see the image that was being used was "BaseImage.PNG", so i could copy the Icon.png file from the BULK/ProgrammFiles folder and rename it but that's the least of my worries at the moment. Just wondered if this might help you understand what might have gone wrong?

Other than the file in the Pondlewder Zip, is there anything else I should install first? I haven't ever run any HomeBrew on the system before.

Thanks a million for your help guys
John

Have you tried any other homebrew? Also make sure that filezilla is set to use binary mode for transfer in its settings.
If it's set to automatic I had problems with it corrupting files..

Also make sure the lib files are not 0 bytes. If you run out of space, it may say it copied over, but then show as 0 bytes.

Hi Mick,

Moved everything over again using Binary mode and hey presto it worked like a charm. You are a genius!! I don't think I would have thought over that in a million years as I have used Filezilla for all sorts of things over the years and 'Auto' has never let me down.

The backups copy over perfectly and play as well (maybe even better) than direct from the carts.

Massive thank you for your help, even in Pre-Alpha this is an amazing peice of work.

Thanks again

I think the issue is with the ftp server on the leapTV not actually Filezilla.
I only discovered the problem after I couldn't get stuff to run that I had compiled, and noticed the file size was a couple of bytes less than the file I had originally sent.

The issue seems to be that in "auto" mode, if there are any bytes of 0A 0D (CR/LF) they get removed the file which causes the corruption, and setting it to Binary only mode seems to solve the problem Smile

Glad you got it working eventually.
