What is the shell command that will let me know i have successfully connected my LP2 & my computer via ftp.

I don't believe there is a shell command to do that. Have you used FTP before? The FTP program tells you the status and will show you a list of files on the device if you have connect. If it fails, it will tell you.

I am not familiar with WinSCP. Just use FTP to transfer files. If I find time later today then I will update my post on here with a more detailed tutorial with screenshots.

Just one quick question, by using the Dev mode within your LFConnect software, is the 'developer' directory deleted before disconnection as IIRC you cannot connect to official LeapFrog Manager with the directory still on the device. Whoops, I just re-read Step 10 of your tutorial again. Sorry! Clearly you have said to delete the 'developer' directory.

developer is simply a file, not a directory, but yes just delete it through FTP and after rebooting then you will be back to normal
